A.P.Ershov applies to the addressee according to Prof. Perlis' advice. He writes about his forthcoming trip to England, hopes to visit the Manchester University and to meet Mr. Brooker and his colleagues.

Important administrative and editorial procedures are discussed. The author consents to all of Ershov's suggestions.

Reply to the letter of February, 18. To keep N.Inada informed of the progress, the author will be sending copies of a correspondence and papers relating to the Annual Review. The next letter to A.Ershov is enclosed.

C.J.Shaw replies to Britt's questions on the Annual Review.

Author approves of the topic of the paper and asks to send the finished paper by July 1. To speed the editorial machinery, addressees can send the paper copies to each of the members of the Editorial Board.

The author encloses the notice about the late Richard Goodman, written by Dr.Bryan Higman. He informs that Mr. Colouris is revising his paper and send it to the editors by the end of this month.

Author is inclosing a copy of comments on Colouris's paper. He regrets that the publication of Lucas and Walk's paper on definition of PL/1 is deferred.

The author hopes that by now Coulouris has sent a revised version of his paper to the addressee. The author will leave it to the addressee to decide whether to publish it or not.

The letter has six topics, in particular, the author agrees that McGee's paper is an excellent one, that it's necessary to help to the Goodman's Found, but he suggests to donate half the royalties for three years. He asks about a final decision on Colouris's paper.

Reply to the letter of 15th September is delayed because of the author's moving from Manchester to Essex. The author discusses the results of contacts with potential authors, asks what the position is about the contribution of G. Colouris.

The author decided to include the Coulouris' paper in Volume 6 of the Annual Review because the paper needs the revision. Comments on this paper are attached. The author agrees with the addressee and Ershov that they will not accept papers outside their area.

It is a "formal letter" of the acceptance of Coulouris' paper for Volume 6 of the Annual Review.

C.Shaw sends a copy of a paper by Kiichi Fujino to all the members of the Editorial Board. He asks them to send comments on a paper's publishability to the responsible editor Professor Brooker.

The author supports the publication of the paper by K.Fujino.

The author sends copies of three just-received contributions to ARAP Volume 6, informs on editorial responsibility for deciding on the publishability for each of the papers.
