Covering letter for two documents concerning IFIP 80 Congress: 1) a copy of the letter from the Australian Organizing Committee on recruiting more participants of the Congress; 2) a copy of the letter from the Japanese Secretariat of the Congress to Program Committee members and invited speakers concerning their registration in Tokyo.

The author asks to pay attention to problems connected with Babayan (his retiring from the institute) and Zvenigorodskiy (his following work after postgraduate study).

The author thanks A.P.Ershov for his hospitality in Akademgorodok and would be delighted to have him visit the Carnegie-Mellon University. He also sends a copy of his book and asks for a copy of the thesis (presented by a Ershov's student) on the Pascal parser.

Official letter from the Working Group on the problem “Mathematical and physical foundations of computer development and problems of human-computer interaction”. Ershov is asked to study the report on the problem and make remarks, to write the research program draft and suggest additional topics and possible participants.
