Dear Rakhim Ichshanovich!

Summing up the results if the symposium, in the name of all its participants I would like to thank
you and your colleagues for a huge work on preparation and conduction of the symposium, the work
that was not only hard but that was concluded by total success.

Cooperation with Intourist headed by the manager of its Khorezm department A.P. Davletov
allowed us to organize a good reception of the guests. Continuous and reliable communications were
of vital importance to us and the great help here was rendered by the head of regional Department of
Communications K.R. Rakhimov. All the participants were impressed by transport services and
concern of local transport police provided by State Auto inspection representative B.A. Atazhdanov.
Thanks to the efforts of the head of regional Department of Culture G.Ya. Yakubov the participants
were able to get acquainted with remarkable art of Khorezm citizens. A trip to Khiva will remain in
our memory for long owing to vivid narration of the department head of “Khiva” reserve-museum
S.Yu. Yusupov. A perfect board organization played a great role in successful work of the
symposium, and we are grateful for this to director of the Public Catering Trust R.K. Kalandarov
and his deputy D.S. Suyarov.

Your deputy Sh.A. Jabbarov was of great help to us in preparation of session sites and in
coordination of many questions. But I would like to emphasize once more that at the base of all this
success there lays your personal attention and hospitality, my dear Rakhim Ichshanovich.

In conclusion I venture to turn to you with a small request. Could you give instructions to send me
your regional newspapers of September 25-26 if they contain anything concerning the symposium
and a selection of photos made by your reporters? It will be a good memory of a wonderful week
spent on the ancient Khoresm land.

Let me wish you good health and new great progress – and above all – in Cotton-79 campaign.
