                   ALGORITHMS IN MODERN MATHEMATICS AND ITS APPLICATIONS

                                                          Urgench, September 16-22, 1979

Dear Vasil Kabulovich!

Analyzing the symposium results, each day I become more and more positive that the week spent in
Urgench was truly effective and important to all of us.

Recently we held a first and yet very superficial discussion of the symposium at our seminar that
provoked a great interest among the audience of more then 100 participants.

Being pleased with the past event, I cannot but recall the firm support that you rendered to this
venture as far as two years ago.

I would like to speak favorably of your young colleagues who worked very actively, willingly and
with great discipline. There were a lot of difficulties, but all misunderstandings were promptly
resolved on the base of total mutual understanding. I’m afraid to overlook somebody, but I want to
name the ones with whom we cooperated most closely. Of course, the work with foreigners was
crucial: Shafkat Tuliaganov, Abdurakhim Pulatov and Jakhangir Guliamov did everything necessary
to solve a lot of various problems efficiently. There were continual problems with tickets but both
Alimanovs – Ismail and Shukhrat did everything to satisfy various needs of our guests. Very
bothersome problems of hotel accommodations and material supplies for the symposium were
successfully resolved by Ikram Atabekov, Nuretdin Mukhitdinov and Davran Akhmedov. Alikhan
Buzurkhanov kept vigilant watch over meals management that was excellent. All guests were very
pleased with the efficient work of Ibragim Khankeldiev and other photographers.

In my letter to the 1^st secretary of Khoresm regional party committee I marked excellent and
efficient covering of the symposium by local press. Anvar Kabulov successfully coped with this part
of the task (he also made a good talk).

All this team worked under a composed and strict leadership of Kamal Babamuradov to whom we
are especially indebted. For me the best indicator of this was the fact that since our meeting in Riga
in last year’s April I never had to bother you with the problems of symposium preparation. You may
be sure that conducting of this symposium served well to further growth of the authority of your
solid collective.
