Reply to the letter of January, 31. Author agrees to be a member of the editors, expresses his view on Japanese abstracts and gives a brief description of his background.

Reply to the letter of February, 18. To keep N.Inada informed of the progress, the author will be sending copies of a correspondence and papers relating to the Annual Review. The next letter to A.Ershov is enclosed.

Important administrative and editorial procedures are discussed. The author consents to all of Ershov's suggestions.

Author approves of the topic of the paper and asks to send the finished paper by July 1. To speed the editorial machinery, addressees can send the paper copies to each of the members of the Editorial Board.

C.Shaw is enclosing a copy of a paper by E.Kindler and asks A.Ershov to send his comments on this paper to Mr. Inada as a responsible editor for this contribution. The author is enrolling A.Ershov as a member of SIGPLAN and suggests him to pay the $6 dues when he renews his ACM membership.

The author thanks for the addressee's contribution. After editors' reviewing and a decision as to the paper's publishability, he promises that the full paper's translation from the Japanese will be paid for by the publisher.

The author sends the abstract of K.Fujino's paper. When the paper is accepted he must find out the professional translator. He wants to know the details of receiving pay for the translation.

The author has no comments to Kindler's paper and leaves it up to the addressee to make a decision.

The author sends copies of three just-received contributions to ARAP Volume 6, informs on editorial responsibility for deciding on the publishability for each of the papers.

The author politely rejects a proposal of Britannica Reviews. The Editorial Board of Annual Review considers that the current arrangement with Pergamon Press is preferable.

Before volume 6 to be issued shortly the authors review accomplishments and plans for the future. In particular, they are disappointed by the very small number of contributions from outside the United States. In this connection the following editors are noted: Floyd, Brooker, Bolliet, Ershov and Inada.

M.Halpern discusses results of the last few months, personnel changes in the Editorial Board, a preparing of the volume 7. There is a handwritten request to A.Ershov about getting papers for volume 7. The Attachment contains Royalty Statement from Pergamon Press and a list of contributions for volume 7&later.
