It is private letter. The author informs of his illness, meditates on his life: "preparing for the worse, to hope for the better". He remembers the unforgottable trip around the US, tells his plans and current affairs.

The author tries to encourage his American friends in a troublesome periog of their life, relates of his problems, recollects the "inforgettable trip" of younger programmers around USA.

The author is sorry for the delay in answering because of his business trip in Bulgaria and his medical examination at the Moscow hospital. He is ready to receive the addressee with his wife in Akademgorodok in August.

The author thanks for the thoughtful letter of June 15. He will think of the addressee's offer to become a member of the editorial board of a new journal. His participation in an international seminar in Pisa (September 24-29) can help him to take a decision.
