INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARATION OF
MANUSCRIPTS SUBMITTED TO THE 2nd
ALL-
UNION CONFERENCE IN PROGRAMMING
A.P. ERSHOV
(Novosibirsk)
Abstract.
The
following instructions are to be
followed by the authors preparing their
manuscripts in
camera-ready form for publication
in the Proceedings of the Conference.
The structure and page
layout of this document
illustrate these rules by themselves.
INTRODUCTION
VKP-2
organizing committee asks the authors to
strictly adhere to this instruction and
prepare their
manuscripts with maximum care. It would
allow drawing a polygraphic standard of
the Conference
Proceedings near the high scientific
standard of your presentation.
GENERAL
TEXT STRUCTURE
The
text of any paper should consist of the
following obligatory components: the
title of the paper,
the author or the list of authors, place
or the list of places of residence (cities),
abstract, the main
text, bibliography. The text must be
typed using any non-portable typewriter,
“Optima” being
preferable. The carbon ribbon should be
medium thick and the typescript should
be carefully
cleaned. The text must be typed using
1,5-line spacing on the special sheets
provided. The text’s
width must not exceed the length of the
sheet’s upper guideline, and the left
margin of the text must
coincide precisely with the left end of
the guideline. The right margin
alignment is desirable but not
mandatory. The text on a page must start
3 line spaces below the guideline and
end no lower than 3
line spaces above the page number
position marked by two dashes. Page
numbers should not be
typed. They will be typed in later at
the proceedings’ stitching. Text
highlighting using spacing and
underlining is allowed.
DESCRIPTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS
The
title
of the paper must be typed in capital
letters at the top of the page 1
centered on the width of
page.
Authors.
The names of the authors must be entered
in capitals two lines spaces below the
paper title
with initials preceding the last name.
The name of the last author must be
separated from the rest of
the list by comma and not by “and”
conjunction.
Cities.
A city name is typed in a regular way in
brackets, line-centered, and with 1-line
spacing from
the list of authors. If authors reside
in several cities, city names are typed
not in correlation with
each author but are grouped in a list.
An
abstract
is typed 2 line spaces below the list of
cities and is indented to the right.
Abstract length
must not exceed half of a page.
The
main text is separated from the abstract
by two-line spacing. Paragraphs are
marked by a four-
spaces indentation from the left margin.
Footnotes should be avoided. It is
desirable to use no more
than two types of headings in the main
text: chapter names and paragraph names.
A chapter name is
typed in capital letters with one-line
spacing between previous and subsequent
parts of the text,
without dot at the end. A paragraph name
is typed indented together with the
subsequent paragraph
text and is marked by underscoring.
Section names may be numbered, chapters
being numbered
normally and paragraphs having double
numbering through dot sign (2.1 being
the 1st paragraph of
the 2nd chapter).
Bibliographical references are indicated
by numbers between square brackets where
the number corresponds to a position in
bibliography list. Several reference
numbers may be put
inside the same square brackets.
Pictures must be written or pasted in
the appropriate places in the
text. Letters ant symbols not available
on the typewriter should be hand
lettered carefully using
black ink or drawing ink (please
do not use ball-point pens giving
faltering line).
Bibliography.
All references should be numbered
sequentially, reference number being
separated
from the reference by dot sign.
References should be arranged according
to the sources citation rules
of “Kibernetika” journal [1,2].
If
an author runs short of the special
sheets provided, it is possible to make
them on one’s own using
chalk-overly or other good quality white
paper and precisely maintaining the
special sheet format
(25 x 16 cm).
POSTING A MANUSCRIPT
To
post a manuscript one should prepare the
following documents:
1)
Two
copies of the manuscript (first copy
being printed on special sheets).
2)
Expert
opinion report together with other
documents authorizing publication (if
necessary),
and certificate of authorship.
3)
A
covering letter, if the text has any
peculiarities.
A
printed matter should be carefully
wrapped; it is advisable to enclose a
cardboard for manuscript
safety.
A
printed matter should be posted to
Novosibirsk to the Organizing committee
address:
Novosibirsk-90
Computing Center
VKP-2 Organizing Committee,
and
arrive there no later than 20
November 1969.
