Re: IIS 1991 report; the author of this written opinion highly evaluates the level and profesional reputation of the institutes's stuff and its state of affairs

Taking into consideration the growing defficite of budget funds, the direction and Scientific Council of the IIS are carrying out the below mentioned actions to save the staff and concentration of scientific potential of the institute in the priority research fields. Attached to the given letter is the Attachment #1 containing the "Results of IIS subdivisions rating evaluation" and "Economical activities of the IIS" in the years 1992-1995.

"Programming of cycles and index expressions in ALPHA-compiler"

with the lists of Soviet participants of the Soviet-American meeting

of the IIS director on the formation of the program-technical complex research group

on A.P. Ershov's scientific contribution to the project "Scientific foundations of automatic programming, development and applicaton of a series of compilers for high-level programming languages".
